Now the story behind this beauty is the rose in the painting is on the wall of the Peckham/Danielson residence where Barbara and her husband live, facing the town green where Israel Putnam trained the New England militia to fight the British during the Revolution. Rose faces the Aloctt Harris house last residence of Alcott family in Putnam where they spent weekends. Grouping of homes where the now famous Alcott, Thurbers, Danielsons and Peckhams spent leisure time. Stagecoach road across the street is still a road, hiking trail, where they would have rode. The church was turned by the Danielson/Peckhams to face Liberty Highway after the stagecoach went away. Aloctt/Harris house in painting flys American Flag on 4th of July, fitting as town green training ground to fight for freedom from British rule. Reserve a week this summer and Barbara will paint your favorite garden in your own yard!!! Call Sheri for details.
